Public confidence in elections has reached a historic low in Bulgaria
Part of the road at the crossing of Sofia's Boulevards Christopher Columbus and Brussels has fallen through.
The statement was made by none other than Sofia's Mayor Yordanka Fandakova in the social networks Facebook and Twitter.
Boulevard Brussels that is the main artery connecting the city center with the airport's terminals 1 and 2 was thoroughly renovated merely four years ago.
She recommended an alternative route - the connection along Boulevard tsarigradsko Shousse, then Boulevard Copenhagen.
Fandakova also announced that the renovation works along the affected portion of the road will be continuing on Thursday as well. Additionally, a team from the Sofia Water Supply company are currently on site doing exploration works regarding the condition and the need for a possible change of the plumbing system, dating back to the 70s.
The end date for the renovation works along the road have not been specified.
