Three members of the Supreme Administrative Court will sit on the appeal of the Supreme Judicial Council against the governmental decision approving draft budget 2003 in its judicial power section Thursday. The supreme magistrates want the funding for the judicial power to be BGN 260 M for next year. The government allotted BGN 138 M in the draft budget. According to the supreme magistrates, this section in the draft budget was unconstitutional and violated the judicial power law. They cited a constitutional clause stating that the judiciary are free to set up themselves the extent of their spending and the government is not allowed to amend it.
