Los Angeles police officers shot and killed a homeless man during an altercation at a homeless camp on Sunday.

A video captured the violent struggle between the man and several police officers in the city’s Skid Row area, which ended with the former’s murder.

According to police, three officers opened fire after the man tried to grab a gun from an officer, the BBC reports.

The officers were responding to reports of a robbery and attempted to use a Taser in order to subdue the suspect, but he continued fighting and resisting.

The homeless man, who was known as Africa, was living on the street for four or five months after spending ten years in a mental health institution.

There was a major unrest in August 2014, after a police officer had fatally shot Michael Brown in the town of Ferguson, Missouri.

The unrest lasted for days and erupted again in November after a grand jury decided not to indict the police officer.
