Yordan Yordanov, head of Bulgaria`s Nuclear Power Plant, has prolonged a contract with the offshore `Energy Invest` company on the transportation of the waste nuclear fuel, Standart Daily announced. It took place on July 11, 2001, at Kozloduy behind the back of the new government. Except for Yordanov, representatives of `Energy Invest` - registered in Vaduz, Liechtenstein, as well as of the Russian `Tekhsnabexport` attended the meeting. The main contract is dated May 30, 2001. According to it, the National Electric Company, the German-based RWE and `Energy Invest` are the contracting parties. The agreement envisages the Nuclear Plant to pay by electricity for the transportation and processing of the waste fuel, rather than by money, and not directly to the carrier - `Tekhsnabexport`, but to the intermediary - `Energy Invest`. The offshore firm is not licensed to import waste fuel into Russia.
