Sales of new cars in Bulgaria registered a 4.1% increase on the year in January 2015, reaching 1419, according to statistics of the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA).
The January 2015 results were the best results for January since 2010 as regards new passenger car registrations in the EU.
In January 2015 EU passenger car registrations recorded growth for the seventeenth consecutive month (+6.7%), reaching almost 1 million units (999,157).
Looking at the largest markets, the increase in demand was driven mainly by the significant growth recorded in Spain (+27.5%) and Italy (+10.9%), followed by the UK (+6.7%), France (+6.2%) and Germany (+2.6%).
In January 2015 Ireland posted an increase of 30.6% on the year, while Portugal registered an uptick of 28% on the year.
Major year-on-year decreases were recorded in Finland, at 19%, Slovakia, at 16.2%, and Greece, at 6.2%.
