Stamen Yanev Appointed Head of Bulgaria’s Investment Promotion Agency
Stamen Yanev has been appointed Executive Director of InvestBulgaria Agency, replacing Svetoslav Mladenov.
Yanev is a lawyer specialized in mergers and acquisitions as well as investment, the government’s investment promotion agency said in a statement on Tuesday.
He has worked for major international consultancies including the Bulgarian divisions of some of the world’s largest auditing firms.
Yanev is also a member of the Movement Bulgaria for the Citizens party, an entity which is part of the junior coalition partner Reformist Bloc (RB), according to the website Dnevnik.bg
InvestBulgaria Agency also said Madjide Ahmedova has been appointed as its new Deputy Executive Director.
Ahmedova, a former Deputy Executive Director of the government's Privatization Agency, is an economist and has managerial experience in public administration as well as the real economy, InvestBulgaria's statement read.
She will replace Kostadin Djatev.
InvestBulgaria was set up with the aim of attracting investment to Bulgaria, assisting project set-up and ensuring successful project development resulting in new jobs, exports and transfer of know-how for the Bulgarian economy.
The management of this government agency is appointed by the Minister of Economy, currently Bozhidar Lukarski, who is a member of the RB.
