The unemployment rate in Bulgaria fell to 3.9% in the first quarter of 2025
Bulgaria's No.1 male tennis player Grigor Dimitrov started successfully his participation in the first Grand Slam tournament for the year – the Australian Open on Monday.
In just over an hour Dimitrov defeated Dustin Brown from Germany with 6:2, 6:3, 6:2 in the first round of the men's singles competition in Melbourne, electronic daily Dnevnik reports.
The Bulgarian, who is seeded tenth in the tournament, had no major problems against the German and the match between them resembled more of a training session.
This is a second victory for Dimitrov against his German opponent, having claimed the first one in the Swiss Open in Gstaad in 2012.
The Bulgarian was confident throughout the whole match, scoring 11 aces and achieving 5 out of 11 possible breaks.
In the second round Dimitrov will face Lukas Lacko from Slovakia, who defeated the Argentinian Maximo Gonzales with 4:6, 6:2, 7:5, 6:7, 6:1.
