Prestigious Sofia University Celebrates Patron's Day

Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, the first school of higher education in Bulgaria, today marks its Patron's Day. President Georgi Parvanov will deliver a speech before academics at the Great Hall of Sofia University on the occasion of the holiday. The celebrations will be attended by representatives from some of the most prestigious universities in Greece, Yugoslavia, Macedonia, Germany, Turkey, Poland, Albania, Austria and the United Kingdom. They are in Sofia for the Third Meeting of Presidents from Central Europe hosted by the Sofia University. The history of Sofia University embodies and continues centuries of cultural and educational tradition in Bulgaria. The largest and most prestigious educational and scientific centre offers 71 degree courses in humanities and sciences.
