France is gearing up for a march on Sunday paying tribute to the 17 victims of terrorist attacks.

Local authorities have beefed up security on the eve of the march, which is expected to draw more than one million people.

Sunday’s 3km march from Place de la R?publique to Place de la Nation, which is to show national unity, is to be attended by a number of leaders of European countries.

Sunday’s unity rally is to be attended by UK Prime Minister David Cameron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, according to reports of the BBC News.

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov will also join the march, according to a media statement of the government’s press office.

Meanwhile, France’s Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve made clear Sunday that the country would remain on its highest state of alert "for the next few weeks".

He informed that some extra 500 police officers were being deployed around Paris to guarantee security.

The three-day wave of violence left 17 dead and many dozens injured.

Local police are hunting for any accomplices involved in the deadly attacks.
