Bulgaria: Bulgaria's Tourism Minister Expects 4-5% Growth This Winter Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova and Blagoy Ragin, head of the Bulgarian Hotelier and Restaurant Owner Association

Bulgaria's Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova told Dnevnik.bg that she expects a growth of 4-5% in the number of tourists this winter season.

“I expect a 4-5% growth, but the data is a bit chaotic still, so we could say for certain later,” Angelkova said. “We have set up an analysis task force, but I personally hope for a higher growth, considering the ski tournaments in Banski in February.”

According to Angelkova, the growth would most likely come from neighbouring countries such as Turkey, Romania and Greece.

Meanwhile, during an award ceremony on Thursday evening,  the head of the Bulgarian Hotelier and Restaurant Owner Association Blagoy Ragin commented that the sector is hopeful of the setting up of the new Tourism Ministry and expects around 6% increase of number of tourists this winter.
