The first snow has fallen in the western and northern parts of Bulgaria overnight.

Temperatures early this morning were between 0 and 7 degrees Celsius, in the southeast and along the seaside - up to 10-12 °. Temperatures are expected to drop in the afternoon when they will be between -1 ° and 4 °, at the seaside up to 9-10 °.

On the territory of Sofia Municipality the situation is normal for the winter conditions, said Yordanka Fandakova, Mayor of Sofia, Bulgaria’s news agency BGNES reports.

Snowfall has already caused traffic problems along the national road network. This morning the movement of trucks at the Petrohan pass and the Troyan pass was temporarily limited.

According to data and forecasts of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology, Code Orange for potentially dangerous weather conditions has been issued in seventeen districts. For Lovech, Gabrovo, Veliko Tarnovo, Targovishte, Razgrad, Shumen and Smolyan the warning is for wind and snow.
