Eight Bulgarian political parties have won enough votes in Sunday’s snap elections to enter Parliament, an exit poll by Gallup International showed.
As expected, GERB won most votes, 33.9%, but remained short of absolute majority in the 240-seat chamber, according to the exit poll conducted at 6 pm, an hour before the official closing time of polling stations, BNR radio station reported.
The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) was second with 16.1%.
Mainly ethnic Turk Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) came third with 14% followed by the Reformist Bloc with 8.6%.
Another four parties have also passed the four-percent threshold to enter Bulgaria’s 43rd National Assembly.
They are the nationalist Patriotic Front with 6.3% of the vote, Bulgaria Without Censorship (5.6%), nationalist Ataka party (4.9%) and the ABV party (4.4%).
