Bulgaria: Voting Machines are Back for the Runoff Elections on Sunday!

Pre-trial proceedings have been opened over the printing fake ballot papers on the territory of Haskovo, according to reports of Ilona Krastenyakova from the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office of Cassation.
The report was presented during a sitting of the Civil Board for Fair Elections at the prime minister's office on Monday.
According to the report, the authorities opened a total of 81 cases on tip-offs for breaches of election rules by September 26.
The cases triggered a total of 16 pre-trial proceedings for crimes against electoral rights of citizens, according to reports of the BGNES news agency.
One of the 16 pre-trial proceedings concerns printing fake ballot papers, another one concerns active bribery aimed at preventing people from exercising the right to vote, 4 others involve proposals for or provisions of material benefits in exchange for voting for a certain party, coalition, or candidate, 9 others involve organizing, offering, or giving material benefits to people in exchange for voting for a certain party, coalition or candidate.
The prosecuting authority informed later on Monday that the case in Haskovo involved illegal possession of ballot papers, adding that the investigation had shown that the 52 ballot papers in question were sample ballot papers which were unfit for voting.
Georgi Arabadzhiev from the Criminal Police Chief Directorate of the Interior specified that pre-trial proceedings had been opened against the people who stormed into the headquarters of the Central Electoral Commission on September 24th.
