A 56-year-old climber has died after falling from a rock in Bulgaria's Vratsata Gorge in the Balkan Mountains Sunday night, the press office of the Interior Ministry informs.
The man with the initials I.M. was a resident of Sofia. He went climbing without having a labeled, marked and secured route.
Falling from a height of 20 m, the mountaineer received numerous head injuries. He was transported to the emergency care unit in the town of Vratsa, where later he died.
Pretrial proceeding has been launched.
