Elenko Bozhkov: 10% Power Price Hike is Unjustified
A leading Bulgarian energy expert has disputed the need to raise power prices by as much as 10%, claiming that rate of increase only served the interests of power distributors.
Bulgaria’s energy regulator DKEVR on Friday proposed to raise power prices for households by 9.79% on average as of October 1 to help cut the financial deficit in the energy sector.
“Only a rise of up to 7.5% would have been justified, the remaining increase of 2.5% has been designed to justify fictitious expenses by the power distributing companies,” Bozhkov opined.
“I guess the rate of increase could have been contained within 5.5%-6.0%”, said Bozhkov, a former DKEVR member, who was dismissed earlier this month by the caretaker government over what the cabinet described as “conflict of interest”.

A potato soup? I don't know ;-)...
EDC, from my own observations: prices, or, better, cost of living (food, utilities, public transport and
other services...) in Bg and Crimea today is, if to summarize all expenditures, approximately the same, though
in Crimea, may be, slightly cheaper and, today again, all fruits and vegetables there are the "made in Crimea" ;-) ones, utmost tasty and cheap...
And the best way is, imho, to come to Crimea, to see it by the own eyes, to evaluate, to compare...
Sorry Sa-sha meant to say 10 RUB although looks like Crimea has that evil capitalist thing called inflation too. 15 RUB is only 0.30 EUR cents for a loaf of bread. How much does a potato soup go for?
In Bulgaria bread is EUROPEAN owned
Wheat EUROPEAN owned
Potatoes EUROPEAN owned
EUROPEAN companies expect EUROPEAN returns on their food while we British pensioners making less than a thousand quid a month have to suffer the consequences of better quality food, safer food and cleaner food that benefits the average Bulgarian but makes our British pockets suffer??????????
Not to mention Bulgarian roads ruining our British roads pampered cars.!!!
WHO owns the power companies now ?
Electricy European owned
Gas European owned
They and their investers want and expect to get EUROPEAN returns at eueopean prices ,like many other goods in Bulgaria the costs are slowly rising to Euro prices ,and when the EURO is put in place then the people and the pension and salaries will be leave them in the proverty unable to buy . While the Rich Bulgarian get richer having been in the KNOW and the right people around them most of them are living in the Euro lifestyle now some even living in Europe . A REALITY check will hit soon the wages and pensions that people can hardly live from now will not even feed them in THE EUROPE that seems to be the goal of the Elite .
In other coutries it happened and the government then had to borrow heavily from Europe to pay the pensions and state works a livable wage . Bulgaria is borrowing from europe now how much more will they need to keep the people in the EURO?
