Bulgaria's caretaker government has made replaced seven district governors.
Emil Ivanov and Nasuf Nasuf, district governors of Sofia-district and Silistra, respectively, were removed from office after submitting their resignations.
The other district governors to be removed from office were Georgi Rachev (Veliko Tarnovo), Nikolay Grigorov (Gabrovo), Stoyan Nenchev (Razgrad), Emel Mustafova (Targovishte) and Ventsislav Venkov (Shumen).
Yulian Lekov was appointed District Governor of Sofia-District.
Lekov holds a BA in Business Administration from the College of Economics and Administration in Plovdiv. He is currently enrolled in a Public Administration program of the D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics – Svishtov.
Stoyan Bonev was appointed District Governor of Silistra. He has been head of a department and chief inspector at the local unit of the Executive Agency "Chief Labor Inspectorate." He holds an MA in Accounting and Control from the D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics – Svishtov.
Georgi Kamarashev was appointed District Governor of Veliko Tarnovo.
He is Professor at the National and Regional Security Department of the Vasil Levski National Military University. He has completed degrees at the Artillery and Air Defence High Military School – Shumen and the Rakovski Defence and Staff College.
Lilyana Hranova-Petkova was appointed District Governor of Gabrovo. She has been Chief Secretary at the district directorate of Agriculture. She has completed a degree in Electronics at the Gabrovo-based Higher Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Institute (HMEEI).
Iliyan Dramaliev was appointed District Governor of Razgrad. He is head of a department at the local unit of the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency in Razgrad. He has completed a degree in Veterinary Medicine at the Higher Institute of Zoo Engineering and Veterinary Medicine in Stara Zagora.
Sevda Ermenkova was appointed District Governor of Targovishte. She was Deputy District Governor of Targovishte in the period 1999-2001. She has an MA in Finance from the St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Turnovo.
Petko Sharenkov was appointed District Governor of Shumen. He is senior expert at the faculty of Artillery, Air Defense and Communication and Information Systems at the Vasil Levski National Military University. He graduated from the Artillery and Air Defence High Military School – Shumen.
In its one month in office, Bulgaria's caretaker government replaced 9 out of 28 district governors and warned the ones intending to take part in the election campaign for the early elections on October 5 to resign instead of taking a leave of absence, according to reports of the BGNES news agency.
Asked to comment on the latest reshuffle, Caretaker Prime Minister Georgi Bliznashki explained Wednesday that all district governors who were taking part in the election campaign and were included in the election lists of a political party had been removed from office.
