Today is the last day for Bulgarians living abroad to apply for voting in the early elections in October, Nova Tv reminds.

This can be done on the website of the Central Election Commission or by letter to the diplomatic service. If possible, Bulgarian nationals can sign and submit their application in person.

For a polling station to be open abroad, at least 20 applications are needed for settlements where there are Bulgarian diplomatic missions, and 40 applications for the others.

The interim councils of Bulgarians abroad expect over 500 polling places to be set in other countries, Dimitar Ivanov, global coordinator of the council, told Bulgarian National Radio. The forecast is for some 250 thousand Bulgarians to vote from abroad.

By September 13, the Central Election Commission must determine the locations in the countries where Bulgarians will be able to cast their vote.
