Mining Industry Leads as Producer Prices Rise in Bulgaria
In Bulgaria, producer prices in August saw a 1.5% increase compared to the same month last year
The Seasonally adjusted Industrial Production Index decreased by 1.3% in June 2014 as compared to May 2014, the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute shows.
In June 2014 working day adjusted Industrial Production Index rose by 0.6% in comparison with the same month of 2013.
In June 2014 as compared to May 2014, the seasonally adjusted Industrial Production Index decreased in the mining and quarrying industry by 3.0% and in the manufacturing by 0.5%, while in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply an increase by 0.1% was seen.
The most significant decreases of production in the manufacturing were registered in the manufacture of tobacco products by 14.9%, in the printing and reproduction of recorded media by 6.9%, in the manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products by 6.6%, in the manufacture of other transport equipment by 5.9%.
There was an increase in the manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment by 6.7%, in the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers by 4.1%, in the repair and installation of machinery and equipment and in the manufacture of leather and related products by 2.9%.
On annual basis in June 2014 Industrial Production Index, calculated from working day adjusted data increased in the manufacturing by 1.8%, while the production decreased in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply by 4.1% and in the mining and quarrying industry by 1.4%.
In manufacturing, the more significant increases compared to the same month of the previous year were seen in the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers by 24.3%, in the manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products by 20.1%, in the manufacture of rubber and plastic products by 19.1%, in the manufacture of basic metals by 17.1%, in the repair and installation of machinery and equipment by 12.6%.
Decreases were registered in the manufacture of tobacco products by 25.1%, in the manufacture of beverages by 9.9%, in the manufacture of food products by 5.9%.
