Bulgaria's Prosecutor's Office probes the hacking of Bulgarian Orthodox Church and the resulting “death sentences” from nationalist organizations, reports Dnevnik.bg.

Earlier in May The official website of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church was hacked by the Turkish organization Milli Gucler. The home page displays the Turkish flag and the following text: “The official website of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church is hit in response to the vandal attack on the Djumaya mosque in Plovdiv.

The office of Bulgaria's Chief Mufti condemned the hacking, but nationalist organizations sent a statement to the media, saying that they have issued “death sentences for all responsible for the hacking.”

In February a gang of football hooligans attacked with stones the Djumaya mosque in downtown Plovdiv in protest of a court decision ordering the Karlovo municipality to relinquish a former mosque to the Muslim Faith in Bulgaria.

Police apprehended more than 120 people. Eight were sentenced for hooliganizm.
