The former journalist and current leader of Bulgaria Without Censorship (BWC) Nikolay Barekov was extremely satisfied with his results in the European elections.

These are the first elections for the newly formed BWC, which participated in a broader coalition with nationalist VMRO party and the National Agrarian Union (ZNS). They receive around 10% of the vote, according to the preliminary results.

“It is evident that Bulgaria Without Censorship is a political factor. The votes for us are votes against the government”, Barekov commented.

Barekov claimed that the failure of the Socialists (BSP) in these elections shows that immediate parliamentary elections are necessary. He also added that the media campaign against his party had failed, and even made him stronger.

“I would like to call on you, the media, to stop insulting our electorate. If you see the breakdown, most of our voters are in the big cities, and among the young people. This is not the profile that the media was presenting”, Barekov added.

The former journalist was critical of the Roma voters, whom he accused of selling their votes to BSP and DPS and letting him down.
