Ex-Yanukovych Aide Killed in Spain
Andriy Portnov, a controversial figure and former senior official under Ukraine’s ousted President Viktor Yanukovych, was fatally shot outside the American School in Madrid
Ukrainian National Guard killed 20 pro-Russian separatists in the port town of Mariupol, said Ukraine's Interior Minister Arsen Avakov.
One policeman was also killed.
The hospitals report of at least 25 wounded, including one freelancer of the Russia Today TV channel.
According to reports, the gun battles between the separatists and the security forces were continuing all day.
The local “self defence forces” claim the Ukrainian army opened fire on a peaceful rally in support of the police officers who barricaded themselves in the police station, while the Ukrainian forces claim “masked armed men in camouflage uniforms” stormed the police station.
According to the local media, the separatists have captured a tank and are building barricades in the streets.
According to earlier reports, the victims were eight.
