Ukraine Marks Anniversary of Russia’s Sham Crimea Referendum

A Soviet monument in Bulgaria's capital city of Sofia has been painted with the flags of Ukraine and the European Union, Thursday.
The monument – ossuary of Soviet soldiers in Lozenets district in Sofia has been covered with the words "Europe Day instead of Victory Day" in reference to the upcoming celebrations of the Day of peace and unity in Europe and of the capitulation of Nazi Germany to the Soviet Union in the Second World War both marked on May 9, BTV reports.
The painted monument is one of the two places where representatives of the Embassy of Russia lay wreaths and flowers every year on that date.
