King Abdullah II of Jordan, accompanied by Queen Rania, arrived in Sofia on a two-day official visit. Jordanian Prime Minister and Defence Minister Ali Abu al-Ragheb and Foreign Minister Adul Ilah al-Khatib are also on the roster of the delegation. It is the first ever visit of Jordanian King to the country and first royal visit to Bulgaria after King Simeon II came back to launch a political movement, which won June 17 elections and took the ruling of the country. Although the king was officially invited by President Stoyanov he was met at the airport by Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg, who was good friend to late King Hassan, father of Abdullah II. Later the King met also President Stoyanov – first with the Queen and the president`s wife and then one-to-one. Three bilateral agreements were also signed.
