Veselin Pantaleev-Eschkenazy returned to Bulgaria to receive his award for "Personality in the News 2013" in the category Culture.

The world-renowned violinist earned 1,759 votes in the prestigious online vote. Far behind him with 852 votes remained actor Vladimir Penev and writer Georgi Gospodinov, with 731.

Vesko Eschkenazy, as he is more commonly known, is currently the concertmaster of The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam. Upon graduating the National Music Academy in Sofia, he moved to London in 1990 to pursue a masters degree.

Eschkenazy has performed throughout the world and is viewed as one of Bulgaria's proudest cultural exports in contemporary times.
