Bulgaria: Could Bulgaria's Ex Rightist PM, Ex Leftist President Team Up?

Every time elections approach, Bulgarian politicians would turn into hard-headed schemers.

They would flit from party to party trying to convince the patient and naive voters that serving the national priorities comes first.

Leader of center-right GERB party Boyko Borisov said on Saturday it was not normal for key parties leaders to have such a communication breakdown, unlike former President Parvanov and MEP Ivaylo Kalfin.

According to Borisov, despite their conflicts, parties must unite around the national priorities, citing as an example his own relations with President Parvanov during his mandate as Prime Minister.

“No one could accuse us of being too friendly or cordial, but we have always put the national interests first,” Borisov commented.

Some people obviously cannot realize why anti-government protests in the country are still going on.

If they really cared about national priorities, they should know that Bulgaria needs steady and consistent politics which constitute of authentic left/right wing parties, rather than some sort of a corporate left/right wing politicians fighting for world peace.
