Bulgarian Nevrokop's Metropolitan Bishop Nathaniel, has passed away Friday, reported the government hospital.

The Bishop was to turn 61 on Saturday, November 16.

On March 25, 1989, Nathaniel was consecrated titular bishop with the title Krupnishki. From April 24, 1994, he was Nevrokop's Metropolitan.

Nathaniel was elected Bishop of the Nevrokop eparchy while his predecessor, Pimen, was still alive, after the latter joined the Bulgarian Orthodox Church's schism.
