World-famous Jazzman Milcho Leviev Lectures in Sofia

World-famous jazzman Milcho Leviev starts a workshop on musical interpretation and improvisation in the New Bulgarian University. The composer and piano player will teach Bulgarian talents October 28 - November 4. Milcho Leviev was born on 19 Dec. 1937 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. In the early 60s, he became the musical director of the State Drama Theatre and the Bulgarian Radio and Television Big Band. In 1970, Leviev immigrated to Germany and later moved to Los Angeles. His virtuosity and ability to play effortlessly in odd meters (a skill that originates from his familiarity with Bulgarian authentic music) were major assets during his successful career in jazz.
