The 2,600-meter-high Mount Sinabung on Sumatra island was reported to have erupted early on Sunday, spewing volcanic dust reaching a height up to 7,000 meters, according to The Jakarta Post.
The volcano's previous eruption was registered on October 24, when more than 3300 people were evacuated from the region.
As the volcano woke up in September after staying dormant for three years, over 15 000 people were forced to flee the North Sumatra province.
In 2012, there were a total of 127 active volcanoes in Indonesia.
