Bulgarian MPs from DPS-Dogan Retain Immunity Amid Heated Parliamentary Debate
Jeyhan Ibryamov, a deputy from "Democracy, Rights and Freedoms - DPS *Dogan)," retained his parliamentary immunity
"The most important issue in the case against Oktay Enimehmedov is who contracted the murder of Ahmed Dogan. Dogan is not going to testify because he has submitted doctor's notes and a memo, showing his ailing health precluded courtroom appearances. I am not authorized to give more information about his condition. I'm not a judge and I'm not able to comment on the purely legal side of the issue, but as a common person, I have a counter question – as further demonstrated by today's testimony, everything is clear. Is there someone who doubts that Oktay Enimehmedov came with a gun, reloaded it 2 times in an attempt to produce 3 shots, and the gun was found on him? Do you imagine, if you put yourself in Dogan's shoes, someone asking you to stay close to your executioner?"
Lyutvi Mestan, current leader of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, DPS. He appeared in Court to testify in the trial against Enimehmedov, the man who pointed a gas pistol in February at the party's honorary chairman, Ahmed Dogan.
