Business | August 24, 2001, Friday // 00:00
Ministry of Agriculture announced it will start selling state-owned arable land in the regions of Rousse, Targovishte and Sofia against registered compensatory vouchers. A total of 32.350 dca of land will be offered for sale by tender. The compensatory vouchers were issued to former land owners whose estates could not be restored in their actual locations and boundaries. Registered vouchers cannot be obtained on the secondary market, unlike compensatory notes which are traded at about 20% of their nominal value. Potential bidders for arable land must deposit their applications by October 10 at the latest.
