Army Salaries in Bulgaria to See Significant Increases from 2025
Starting from January 1, 2025, the minimum salary for military personnel in Bulgaria will be set at 2,300 leva
The Members of the Parliament from the opposition center-right Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria party, GERB, will be deprived of their wage for September 26 because they failed to register for the electronic vote.
The information was stated Friday by the Speaker of the Parliament Mihail Mikov before Nova TV.
On Thursday, GERB lawmakers refused to register for debates on the non-confidence motion against the government despite the fact they were the ones to initiate it.
GERB leader and former Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, grounded the decision on extreme nationalist party Ataka holding the Parliament hostage as they were absent from the session over a visit to Brussels.
Mikov says the salary of every MP is bind with his or her presence in plenary hall and electronic registration.
"The fact they were actually present in plenary hall does not count – the roll call is just an ascertainment. It does not have the same effect on the MPs's pay as it does the electronic system," Mikov was firm.
GERB say they will refer the matter to the Constitutional Court despite the fact that GERB MPs, who tabled the no-confidence vote, did not register for sittings in the last three days, not just on Thursday.
