An earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale was reported on the territory of Bulgaria late on Monday.

The European Mediterranean Seismological Centre said the epicenter of the tremor has been registered 210 kilometers south-east of the capital Sofia, in the region of the town of Kardzhali, Southern Bulgaria.

The tremor continued for about seven minutes and was by felt by the locals

It was followed by another, lighter quake, which hit the region at 3 am with a magnitude of 2.3 on the Richter scale.

There have been no reports of casualties or material damage.
