Russia does not agree with the drafting of a UN Security Council resolution on its proposal for the Syrian chemical arsenal to be transfered to international control, revealed French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius.

Earlier Tuesday, Fabius said that France had taken up the drafting of a resolution to implement the Russian plan, which was seen as giving the oportunity for bringing together the positions of Russia and China, on one side, and the US and France, on the other.

"I was made to understand that at this stage the Russians are not enthusiastic - and I'm using an euphemism - regarding the framing of all that in a common UN resolution," said the French top diplomat.

The Russian proposal, already approved by Syria, and welcomed by countries as disparate on the Syrian conflict as the US and Iran, was issued in a bid to avoid a planned US intervention in the Syrian civil war.
