Wizz Air is accelerating its return to Israel
An Iranian official has warned that Israel would become the first country to "fall victim" in case of a potential military intervention by the United States in Syria.
Hossein Sheikholeslam, head of the Iranian Parliament's international affairs committee, has stated that a military strike on Syria is very unlikely.
However, he added that if it actually occurred, “the first victim… would be the Zionist regime (Israel), because the Syrian military… can launch a major offensive on Israel and “flatten the place that is tied to the US’s national security.”
The US has issued the strongest signal yet that it intends to take military action against Syria, with secretary of state John Kerry saying it was "undeniable" that chemical weapons had been used in the country.
