The English version of the Bulgarian government’s official website (government.bg) has not been updated in years, local media have noticed.

The “Form of Government” section of the website claims that former President Georgi Parvanov is still head of state – despite the fact that his successor, Rosen Plevneliev, took over in the beginning of 2012.

Even more strangely, Georgi Pirinski is named as Speaker of the National Assembly. Pirinski, a left-wing politician, has not occupied this position since 2009.

The “Cabinet” section of the website’s English version remains empty.

The English version of the website also claims that the country borders “Serbia and Montenegro” to the west – despite the fact that Serbia and Montenegro split up into two independent countries in 2006.
