Parents of Missing Girl from Dupnitsa Make Emotional Plea for Her Return
In a heart-wrenching plea, the parents of Ivana, a young girl missing from Dupnitsa for 16 days, have appealed for her safe return
A section of Lot 1 of Bulgaria's Struma highway connecting the village of Dolna Dikanya to the Dupnitsa-north road junction is to be inaugurated on Tuesday.
Traffic along the highway section is to be released at 1 am, according to reports of money.bg.
Lot 1 Dolna Dikanya – Dupnitsa spans a total of 16.78km.
On July 23, a 13.98km section of Lot 1, plus two road junctions, Sofia-Dupnitsa and Dupnitsa-Sofia, will be inaugurated.
The remaining 2.8km of Lot 1 are to be officially launched by end-August 2013.
Although the project is scheduled for completion by September 1, 2013, traffic along the completed section will be launched pre-term to ease traffic in the direction of the Kulata border crossing point.
The highway project is implemented by Consortium "Struma 1" and the contract is worth BGN 70 240 800, VAT included.
The Dolna Dikanya – Dupnitsa section crosses the western districts of Radomir and Dupnitsa.
There are 18 big facilities along the route of the Dolna Dikanya – Dupnitsa highway section, including 4 bridges, 7 underpasses, 6 overpasses, and a viaduct
The total length of the Struma highway from the village of Daskalovo to the Greek border is 150 km.
It is part of the Pan-European Transport Corridor IV and the Trans-European North-South Highway.
The construction of a total of 68.5km of the Struma highway, including Lot 1 (Dolna Dikanya – Dupnitsa, 16.78km), Lot 2 (Dupnitsa – Blagoevgrad, around 37 km) and Lot 4 (Sandanski – Kulata, 14.7km) is funded under Operational Program "Transport" for the period 2007-2013.
The highway project is co-financed by the Cohesion Fund and the state budget under Transport OP 2007-2013.
