A Bulgarian citizen is missing after falling off an oil platform near the coast of Angola, informed the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Wednesday.

The incident happened Monday night at a SAIPEM-ENI platform, and involved two Bulgarian citizens.

During the immediately started rescue action, one of the Bulgarians was retrieved, but the other is still missing.

The saved worker is hospitalized, his life outside of danger, at a hospital in Angolese capital Luanda.

Angola coast guard and a team of the oil company are still searching for the missing Bulgarian.

His relatives have been informed, states Bulgaria's Foreign Affairs Ministry, adding that it remains in touch with Angolese authorities and SAIPEM-ENI regarding the incident.
