The plant for instrumental equipment will be sold via competition, the Privatisation Agency announced. An 80% stake in the Dupnitsa-based facility will be sold. The opening bid is set on BGN 970,000. A three-year business plan must be presented.

Plama workers renewed their protests against the poor management of the new owners which dooms the refinery to bankruptcy. They warned that in case their back salaries are not paid soon, they will approach the Strawboard Court and demanded that the finance ministry appoints an audit for the time elapsed after December 18, 1998, to clarify what the owners` liabilities to the republican budget are.

SIBANK won the servicing of a few regional customs, such as those in Gotse Delchev, Blagoevgrad, Pernik Plovdiv and Varna, a bank official said, in response to the head of the Customs Agency Emil Dimitrov as to the possibility for SIBANK to be removed from servicing the customs. The daily collection of customs fees and duties is transferred to the republican budget on a daily basis, he specified.
