Plamen Oresharski, Prime Minister-designate of the Bulgarian Socialist Party, has said that the ministerial nominees for a new government are 90% ready.
On May 23, Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev handed the mandate to form a new government to BSP, the party which ranked second at the May general 12 elections, after the winner, center-right party Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (GERB) refused to do so.
Plevneliev handed the mandate to Oresharski, a non-partisan former Finance Minister endorsed for PM by BSP leader and PES president Sergey Stanishev.
In a Sunday interview for private TV station bTV, Oresharski made clear that the composition of the new cabinet would be officially announced on Monday.
He did not reveal any names of ministerial nominees or plans for structural changes.
Meanwhile, BSP continues with expert consultations on the formation of a new government.
The socialists are scheduled to meet representatives of ethnic Turkish Movement for Rights and Freedoms party (DPS) on Sunday, while the talks with nationalist parties Ataka and VMRO are to take place on Monday.
Meanwhile, Tanya Andreeva, head of Sofia's Sheynovo Hospital for Obstetrics and Gynecology, admitted Sunday that she had accepted a nomination for the post of Health Minister after talks with BSP Chair and former Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev.
