Bulgaria's former ruling GERB party is ready for for a new cabinet proposal, stated GERB campaign manager and vice-chair Tsvetan Tsvetanov, following the outcome of Sunday general elections.
Exit polls show that GERB has some 30% of the vote, about 4 percentage points in front of the Bulgarian Socialist Party.
"We are ready with the new cabinet, but we must wait and see results first," said Bulgaria's former Interior Minister upon entering the National Palace of Culture in Sofia, where parties are to hold press conferences later Sunday night.
He also added that GERB needs to first see which parties will be willing to adopt a constructive stance towards the future cabinet.
According to exit polls, only the liberal Movement for Rights and Freedoms and nationalists Ataka are to enter parliament besides GERB and the Socialists.
"Situations like this lead to a sobering. There are opportunities both for correcting our previous mistakes, and for leading a more pragmatic dialogue with other actors," said Tsvetanov.
