At least four political parties will surely have lawmakers in Bulgaria’s next Parliament, according to a poll conducted by Alpha Research.

The center-right GERB party of former PM Boyko Borisov (2009-2013) is projected to win 33% of the vote, while GERB’s main foe, the Bulgarian Socialist Party, is expected to gather 28%.

The ethnic Turkish Movement for Rights and Freedoms comes third with 10%, followed by the ultranationalist Attack (7.5%).

One more party appears likely to enter the Parliament. The right-wing Bulgaria for Citizens of former EU Commissioner Meglena Kuneva has 4%, which is exactly the election threshold.
The poll suggests that four other parties stand an outside chance of obtaining seats in Parliament.

A total of 21% of voters are undecided, while 25% have declared that they will not go to the polls.

The survey has been requested by dnevnik.bg.

Borisov’s Cabinet resigned amid massive anti-poverty protests in February, prompting President Rosen Plevneliev to adjourn the Parliament, appoint a caretaker Cabinet and schedule elections for May 12.
