Politics » ELECTIONS 2013 | April 15, 2013, Monday // 15:18

35,000 police officers will be deployed to ensure the orderly conduct of early parliamentary elections in Bulgaria.

The law enforcement officers will be commissioned not only for election day, May 12, but also the day after, said Bulgarian police chief director Angel Antonov.

"Officers will have to fill out declarations that they are not related in any way to election officials, candidates from the region and other political persons," said Antonov.

He assured that the police will take all measures to ensure peaceful and fair election.

A police telephone hotline for the elections will be launched on April 25.
