Beysim Basri, the Mayor of the northern Bulgarian town of Isperih, has been arrested by police on suspicion of attempted murder, according to local media.
Basri is to be interrogated about an incident that took place in a hunting area back in February.
The Mayor of Isperih allegedly shot at forest rangers that caught him hunting without permission.
Basri’s driver, Shenol Bakir, who was the initial suspect for the shooting, was recently released from custody.
