Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades has decided to cut his own salary by 25%, a presidential aide announced on Thursday.

The president "has already authorized the accountant general to reduce his own salary by 25 per cent", undersecretary to the president Constantinos Petrides told reporters.

The members of the cabinet have agreed to cute their own salaries by 20%.

Both the president and the members of the government have renounced the 13th month salary to which they are entitled.
