1 hr. 48 min. In present-day London, 12-year-old Quinn watches as his mother, a construction engineer, inadvertently wakes an enormous fire-breathing beast from its centuries-long slumber. Twenty years later, much of the world has been scarred by the beast and its offspring. As a fire chief, Quinn (Christian Bale) is responsible for warding off the beasts and keeping a small community alive as they eke out a meager existence. Into their midst comes hotshot American Van Zan (Matthew McConaughey) who says he has a way to kill the beasts and save mankind - a way Quinn's never seen done.
Sauvage Innocence (France/Netherlands 2001)
A director wants to make a film against drugs (once he lost his wife who died from an overdose of heroin). He wants to give the main part of his film to a young actress he fell in love with. He tries to find money to make his film but all the producers he meets refuse to invest in it. One day a man offers him a huge amount of money after having heard his story. However this man asks him to carry a suitcase full of heroin from a country to another. He would therefore be able to produce his film against the use of heroin, by using the money of a heroin traffic. As he wants to seduce the young actress and avenge his former wife, he accepts. For appearances he hires the man as producer of the film and lets him come on the set. Everything goes as planned and one day on the shooting the actress is called for the last scene, but she cannot be found. After some research, she is found dead behind the back of the house. The man addicted her to heroin and she died from an overdose.
La Symphonie du Silence (Armenia, 2001)
