Fulham star Dimitar Berbatov and former Barcelona striker Hristo Stoichkov are likely to take part in a charity football game in Sofia in May, according to local media.

A Bulgarian star team will face Aston Villa veterans in a friendly game that will raise funds for the treatment of children with leukemia in Bulgaria.

The match is organized by Stiliyan Petrov, long-standing captain of the Bulgarian national team, who is also fighting leukemia.

The Bulgarian team will be selected by former Bulgaria coach Dimitar Penev, who will have the tough job to choose among over 30 players that have already volunteered.

The charity football match on the Vasil Levski National Stadium starts at 3 p.m. on May 25 and will be aired live by the Bulgarian National Television (BNT).

The event has been supported by British Ambassador to Bulgaria Jonathan Allen.
