FlixBus, the renowned European bus company, is set to launch new routes to and from Bulgaria in anticipation of the summer season
Bulgaria's finance minster, who was shockingly dismissed last month only to be followed by the resignation of the whole government, has no plans to run for office again.
"I will never serve as Bulgaria's finance minister again, but if I had to start all over again I would have done it in exactly the same way," Simeon Djankov said from the parliamentary rostrum on Friday.
"I am fully aware that may be I am the minister people hate most, but this is only natural for a finance minister in times of crisis," he explained.
"I have never acted under pressure, I did what I did because I believed that was the right solution."
"Bulgaria is in good financial health thanks to my resoluteness. Going bankrupt was a realistic scenario for Bulgaria and then everyone of us was to be much poorer."
According to local media reports, which emerged last week, Finance Minister Simeon Djankov was very likely to be appointed caretaker Prime Minister because maintaining financial stability will be of crucial importance.
Djankov has refused to comment but sources close to him have adamantly rejected the rumors.
Outgoing Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has already declared that Djankov will not be included in a potential new GERB government.
