Canon Bulgaria officially announced the results of the "Photo of the year – Bulgaria 2012" contest in the National Art Gallery on Thursday.
The awards are BGN 3000 for reportage photography, BGN 3000 for art photography, and BGN 3000 for photo essay.
The competition jury selected a "Photo of 2012" in the three categories and picked authors and photos for the annual national photo exhibition "Photo of the year" conducted in cooperation with the National Art Gallery.
This year's photo exhibition includes some 200 photos. It will be open for visitors until March 31, 2013.
This year's jury brought together Ivo Hadzhimishev (Chair), Georgi Lozanov, Maxim Minchev, Ivan Kyuranov, Gergana Kostadinova, Petar Abadzhiev, and Velislav Nikolov.
"Canon believes that photography is emotion and an art form, a careful look at life, an opportunity to see the unusual and share it," said Atanas Nastradinov, General Manager of Canon Bulgaria.
