BIA Launches a Project to Encourage a Longer Working Life
The Bulgarian Industrial Association (BIA) is launching a project to encourage a longer working life.
Plamen Grozdanov, Executive Director of the Made in Bulgaria Union, has argued that only 10% of the goods sold in the country are locally produced.
In a Tuesday interview for the Bulgaria on Air TV, he suggested that the statistics showed the tough situation of Bulgarian producers.
Grozdanov noted that the large growth in import had been caused by the lack of clear rules for doing business in Bulgaria, the poor business climate, and the policies of large chains of stores.
He informed that meetings were underway with representatives of major chains of stores.
The head of the Made in Bulgaria Union announced that a meeting on January 10 had included discussions on topics like fees charged by retailers, the transfer of costs and commercial risk onto producers, and price control.
"What we want is clear rules because the number of Bulgarian products sold in the country keeps diminishing," he added.
Grozdanov said that the Made in Bulgaria Union was working with the National Association of Small and Medium Business (NASMB) and the Bulgarian Industrial Association (BIA) to counter the worrying trends.
