Turkish border authorities have seized nearly 45 kilograms of heroin hidden in a car travelling to Bulgaria.

Teams of the service for combating drug trafficking and organized crime in Kirklareli tracked down a vehicle on a tip-off that it was carrying drugs.

The car was intercepted at the Derekoy – Malko Tarnovo border crossing point and was subject to detailed inspection.

The customs officers found the drugs in a hidden compartment of the car.

The heroin had been packed into 88 packs of 0.5 kg.
